Attic work is not glamorous. You’re crawling through tight spaces, pulling out old fiberglass that’s been sitting there since the eighties, and making decisions that will affect how comfortable a family is for the next twenty years. Chase Whitaker started Laurel Attic Insulation in 2003 because he believed that work like that deserves to be done right – and that the people who do it deserve a crew worth showing up for. If you want a job where you can actually see the difference you made at the end of the day, you’re in the right place.
Who We’re Looking For
- Insulation Installer: Someone comfortable working in attic and crawl-space environments who takes pride in a clean, even install – not just a fast one.
- Spray Foam Technician: A detail-oriented person who understands that spray foam work is as much about preparation and control as it is about the gun in your hand.
- Insulation Removal Specialist: Patient, methodical, and not bothered by confined spaces or material that’s decades old and definitely needs to go.
- Lead Installer / Crew Lead: Someone who’s been around long enough to read a job before it starts and steady enough to keep the crew on the same page from first pull to final photo.
- Dispatcher / Scheduler: An organized communicator who can juggle live arrival times, crew locations, and customer updates without losing their cool or dropping a job.
- Customer Service Representative: A clear, calm voice on the phone who genuinely enjoys solving problems and knows that a customer calling at 9 p.m. deserves a real person, not a voicemail.
What We Offer
Real Training and a Path That Goes Somewhere
We don’t hand you a box cutter and point you at an attic on day one. Apprentices work alongside experienced installers until the techniques and the judgment are both there. The path from apprentice to lead installer is real – it’s been walked by people who started with zero insulation experience and now run their own crews.
Work You Can Stand Behind
Every job we do comes with a written price before anything starts, before-and-after photos, and our 365-Day Done Right Promise. That means when you finish a job, you’re not hoping it holds up – it’s backed in writing. Working for a company that runs that way makes the job feel different. You’re not cutting corners because no one told you not to. You’re doing it right because the whole system is built around it.
Local Crew, National Backing
Laurel Attic Insulation is independently owned and operated, part of the Relay Home Co. family. That means you get the community feel of a local crew – people who know the market, know the houses, know each other – with the materials, systems, and support of a national brand behind you. We pull from eight manufacturer brands including Owens Corning, Rockwool, Icynene, and Johns Manville, so you’re working with quality materials matched to the job, not whatever’s left on the truck.
Steady Demand
Homes don’t stop needing insulation. Attic insulation, spray foam, and removal work keeps the schedule full year-round. There’s no off-season here, no slow stretch that makes you wonder if you’ll have hours next week. The work is consistent, and consistent work matters.
No Experience? Read This.
If you’ve spent time in construction, HVAC, roofing, plumbing, or really any trade where you used your hands and had to solve problems in tight spots, more transfers than you’d think. Reading a space, working safely at height or in a confined area, managing materials, finishing a job clean – those instincts carry over.
What we teach you is the technical side: insulation types, proper coverage depths, spray foam prep and application, removal protocols, and how we document every job for the customer. The first few months are structured. You’ll be on jobs with experienced people, not left to figure it out alone. Ask questions – that’s what the time is for.
Chase built this company on the idea that the right person with real training beats the experienced person who picked up bad habits somewhere else. If you’re dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to learn, we’d rather talk to you than not.
